After Coljuegos published an economic report on the behavior of the sector as of May of this year, two very important conclusions can be drawn.
First and foremost, it is a resilient sector that is made up of entrepreneurs committed to move the industry forward in the face of any adversity, as they understand the responsibility of being the livelihood of hundreds of thousands of families nationwide.
Second but not less important, in spite of being one of the least supported pieces by the different actors of the ecosystem, casinos continue to be the key piece for Coljuegos and the whole industry in general terms.
Within the document shared by Coljuegos, the numbers show a constant upward trend in which, despite the breaking point that the pandemic meant, so far this year, the numbers presented by the industry during 2019 have already been surpassed. March and May 2022 have been the months with the highest peaks in terms of gross sales growth compared to the same months of 2021, with a growth of 15.4% and 9.4% respectively.
Within the casino sector, it stands out as those who have contributed the most in terms of exploitation rights in the last 3 years. By May 2022 they have collected $123,651 million pesos (USD 27.004.638), followed by the online sector which to date has contributed a total of $94,588 million pesos (USD 20.657.454).
Even, of the 45 billion pesos in accumulated sales for 2021, 28 billion pesos have been contributed by localized games. During the last years they have presented a sustained growth curve. This is followed again by online games, which in the same time reference had a total gross sale of 16 billion pesos.
