The Swedish gambling regulator, Lotteriinspektionen, highlight that the unregulated online betting market account for a quarter of the country’s total gambling revenue.
In 2017 that unregulated market was worth €544.8 million. From the €2.2 billion worth net Swedish market value.
The percentages of this unregulated market worth €544.8 million is:
- sports betting services: 42%
- online casino games: 40% (in 2008 was only 21%)
- online poker: 7% (in 2008 was 20)
- other online gaming services: 11% (in 2008 was 9%)
All this data comes from an alliance of the Swedish government and “The most trusted data and intelligence on the global gambling industry”, H2 gambling capital. According to them the unregulated market raised a 13% from 2016, turning the segment into Sweden’s major propellant of growth in gambling.
