Grupo Orenes is entering Jamaica as operator of Adamas Grand Casino, the country’s first integrated casino being prepared under the Casino Gaming Act. The venue is located inside Princess Grand Jamaica in Green Island, Hanover, marking the Spanish company’s arrival in the Jamaican market and another step in its Caribbean expansion.
Adamas will cover more than 1,000 square metres and feature classic and next-generation slot machines, blackjack, roulette and craps tables, alongside a Sports Bar equipped with immersive screens. The number of machines, gaming tables and jobs, as well as the casino’s standalone investment, have not been disclosed. Its official website still says “coming soon,” meaning that no definitive opening date has been announced.
Princess Hotels & Resorts developed the complex and appointed INCO LAND LIMITED to build the casino. Polygroup supplied 1,000 square metres of GAMAFLOR Full Steel Heavy Medium raised flooring, engineered to withstand continuous loads, humidity and electrostatic discharges. The system carries an A1 fire rating and provides underfloor access to electrical wiring, data networks and HVAC infrastructure.
Eliseo Orenes
The casino forms part of the US$400 million development comprising Princess Grand Jamaica and Princess Senses The Mangrove, officially inaugurated on December 12, 2024. Together, the hotels provide 1,005 accommodations. Princess Grand Jamaica offers 590 suites, three swimming pools, nine restaurants and eight bars. The US$400 million figure does not represent the casino’s standalone cost.
Cleveland Allen
Grupo Orenes is chaired by Eliseo Orenes and managed by CEO Javier López Cerrón. Princess Jamaica is headed by Enrico Pezzoli. The resort complex employed more than 1,400 people and planned to expand its workforce to 1,700, although casino-specific hiring has not been separated.
Fayval Williams
The Casino Gaming Commission, led by CEO Cleveland Allen and Chairman Ryan-Kwesi Reid, must approve the licence, internal controls and gaming equipment. Finance Minister Fayval Williams oversees the legal framework, while Edmund Bartlett leads the Tourism Ministry. Entry will be restricted to players aged 18 and over.
