In an attempt to reactivate the tourism sector, the province of Quang Nam, one of the major tourist destinations in Vietnam, has proposed that two integrated casino resorts be allowed to accept guests who have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
It will be the first province to test a “safe tourism” program. The selected resorts are Suncity’s Hoiana resort and Tui Blue Hotel.
The plan is to receive South Korean vaccine passport tourists, who must also test negative for Covid-19. Visitors would be allowed to stay at the resorts for between five and ten days.
Vietnam’s tourism sector has been deeply affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The gambling industry was also one of the hardest hited by restrictions as the government has tight restrictions on locals entering casinos.
Casino operators recently asked the government to ease the rules to boost revenue lost as a result of travel restrictions.
