Canada expanded its gaming industry landscape on June 25, 2026, during the official opening week of Cascades Casino London, a fully modernized entertainment complex unveiled after a 27-month renovation and an investment exceeding CAD$50 million.
The project reinforces Gateway Casinos & Entertainment's strategy of transforming its properties into fully integrated destinations combining gaming, hospitality, dining, and entertainment. Located within the Western Fair District at 900 King Street, London, Ontario, the development replaces the former Gateway Casinos London brand and represents one of the largest recent investments in Ontario's land-based gaming sector.
The casino is operated by Gateway Casinos & Entertainment, one of Canada's largest gaming companies, with 31 properties across Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta, approximately 7,000 employees, more than 14,200 slot machines, nearly 380 live gaming tables, 76 restaurants and bars, and 564 hotel rooms throughout its portfolio. The London property is managed by Darcy Romanin, General Manager of Cascades Casino London, while regulatory oversight is provided by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), whose Chief Gaming Officer is Dave Pridmore, under the leadership of President and CEO Duncan Hannay.
The expansion increased the casino's footprint from 70,000 to 84,000 square feet, adding 891 slot machines, 18 live table games, electronic gaming terminals, Ontario's first PROLINE+ Sportsbook Lounge, the MATCH Eatery & Public House featuring Gateway's largest outdoor patio to date, and Chow Lucky Noodle Bar, making its Ontario debut as the province's first location of the Asian-inspired restaurant brand.
The project also created approximately 80 new jobs, bringing total employment to more than 300 people, and is accompanied by a week-long celebration running from June 22 through June 28, featuring cash giveaways, free play offers, gift cards, and exclusive promotions for My Club Rewards members.
The expansion further highlights the economic contribution of regulated gaming in Ontario. Since the property's original opening in 1999, the City of London has received more than CAD$107 million through the Municipality Contribution Agreement administered by the OLG, funding infrastructure, community programs, and municipal services. With this official opening, Gateway aims to establish Cascades Casino London as one of Southwestern Canada's premier gaming and entertainment destinations, reinforcing Ontario's position as one of North America's most dynamic regulated casino markets.
