Massachusetts and Arizona reported new gains across their regulated gaming markets, with US$101.92 million in commercial casino GGR in Massachusetts during August and US$47.59 million in tribal gaming contributions to the Arizona Benefits Fund in the first quarter of FY2027. The reports were released by their respective regulators on September 21 and September 18, 2026.
In Massachusetts, Encore Boston Harbor, MGM Springfield and Plainridge Park Casino generated a combined US$101.92 million in Gross Gaming Revenue. Encore led the market with US$62.8 million, followed by MGM Springfield with US$23.8 million and Plainridge Park with US$15.1 million. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) taxes Encore and MGM, both Category 1 casinos, at 25% of GGR, while Plainridge Park, a Category 2 slots facility, pays 49%. Since opening, the three casinos have contributed approximately US$2.53 billion in taxes and assessments.
Sports betting generated an additional US$47.09 million in taxable sports wagering revenue in August. Mobile operators Bally Bet, BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings, Fanatics, FanDuel and theScore Bet are taxed at 20%, while the retail sportsbooks at Encore, MGM and Plainridge Park pay 15%. Since retail betting launched on January 31, 2023, and mobile wagering on March 10, 2023, Massachusetts has collected about US$500.35 million in sports betting taxes and assessments. The MGC is chaired by Jordan Maynard; Dean Serpa serves as Executive Director and Carrie Torrisi leads Sports Wagering.

In Arizona, the Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) reported US$47,591,384 in tribal gaming contributions for Q1 FY2027, compared with US$46,228,784 a year earlier, an increase of about 2.9%. The system operates under the Arizona Tribal-State Gaming Compact, with 88% of contributions going to the Arizona Benefits Fund and 12% directly to cities, towns and counties.
Contribution rates reach up to 8% of Class III Net Win for major tribes and 0.75% for others. The ADG is led by Jackie Johnson, with Shannon Nelson as Deputy Director-Regulation and John Mazza as Deputy Director-Operations.
