Virginia’s five commercial casinos generated US$97.55 million in adjusted gross receipts (AGR) in August 2026, an increase of approximately 15% year-on-year compared with US$84.83 million in August 2025, according to a report published on September 15 by the Virginia Lottery.

The growth was driven primarily by two new operations. Live! Virginia in Petersburg opened its temporary facility on January 22, 2026 and generated US$14.25 million, while The Interim Gaming Hall Norfolk, operating since November 7, 2025, contributed US$1.13 million.

Among the three comparable casinos that were already operating a year earlier, Caesars Virginia in Danville remained the market leader with US$33.1 million, including US$26.0 million from slots and US$7.1 million from table games. The property, operated by Caesars Entertainment alongside the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, is led by Chris Albrecht.

Rivers Casino Portsmouth, operated by Rush Street Gaming, reported US$26.13 million, including US$19.19 million from slot machines and US$6.94 million from table games. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol, led by Allie Evangelista, generated US$22.92 million.
