Bolivia. - The Gaming Control Authority (AJ) carried out an operation that ended up being the most important of all those carried out by the regulatory body so far in 2024. Specifically, an operation was carried out in an illegal gambling house, located in the northern area of the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, where 68 gaming machines and a roulette wheel were seized.
During the operation carried out jointly with the Public Ministry and the Bolivian Police, one person was arrested for investigative purposes. Likewise, the seized machines were sealed and taken to the AJ warehouses for subsequent destruction.
To date, 40 interventions have been carried out at illegal gambling sites and 211 gaming machines have been seized.
There is a new regulation, No. 01-00002-24, which establishes extensions of deadlines, the offer of prizes from donations and incorporates the use of digital media for the publication of winners and computer applications for raffles, among other adjustments that seek to improve the procedure for the benefit of companies and new ventures.
