The government issued the decree 1615 of 2021 with which it clarified that the vaccination card with complete vaccination schedule will be required from December 14. This is defined to give the possibility to more people who have not been able to attend the immunization points to get the second dose.

This measure, as it was already known, will apply to both public and private events that contemplate massive attendance to bars, gastrobars, restaurants, cinemas, discos, concerts, casinos, bingos and leisure activities, as well as sports venues, amusement parks, museums and fairs.
Until last Tuesday, November 30, the requirement of the card was pedagogical, however, since December 1 it became mandatory, but people will only have to have a vaccination until December 14 when the complete vaccination schedule will be requested. For people over 12 years of age, the measure is expected to begin on December 28.
The Ministry of Health also announced that those responsible for verifying that this implementation is being carried out will be the mayors, but those who must enforce it are the owners of the establishments, not the citizens.
Gerson Bermont, Director of Promotion and Prevention of the Ministry of Health, previously explained that "if there is an establishment that does not comply, it will be subject to the police code, which ranges from a warning to the closure of the place. Any sanction in this respect will be against the owner and not the citizen; and the mayors will give the necessary instructions to their police forces".
The National Government also mentions in the decree that the private sector must grant a day off in the first quarter of 2022 to employees or contractors to complete their vaccination schedules or apply booster doses in the times and cycles established by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
