Bolivia’s gaming authority highlights 2025 oversight achievements

Published date: 2025-08-11

La Paz, August 2025 — Bolivia’s Gaming Oversight Authority (Autoridad de Fiscalización del Juego – AJ) has released its 2025 performance report, showcasing major achievements in transparency, modernization, and community engagement.

Bolivia is also in the news, illegal casino closed, and regulator go for illegal bets.

So far this year, the AJ has authorized 684 corporate promotional campaigns, generating more than Bs 384 million (USD 54 million) in prizes and contributing over Bs 38 million (USD 5.3 million) in gaming taxes for public infrastructure. The regulator is on track to surpass the 1,211 authorizations recorded in 2024.

Ensuring fair play remains a top priority. The AJ supervised seven national lottery draws, overseeing ticket printing, database closures, drawing procedures, and ticket destruction to maintain full transparency. Enforcement efforts included 15 interventions against unauthorized gaming operations, resulting in the seizure of 32 illegal devices, from slot machines to unlicensed poker tables.

The agency also advanced its digital transformation strategy with the launch of AJ CHAT, an AI-powered virtual assistant providing real-time voice and text guidance on lottery processes, promotions, and regulatory queries. This innovation enhances accessibility for businesses and the public alike.

In parallel, the AJ reaffirmed its operational excellence by maintaining its ISO 9001:2015 certification in quality management, validated through an ICONTEC audit. Educational outreach continued with 31 free workshops in 2025, targeting children, teenagers, and families to promote responsible gaming and awareness.
