Mainland China remained the leading source market with 435,440 visitors, representing 9.4% year-on-year growth. It was followed by Indonesia with 161,680; Malaysia, 94,200; Japan, 92,960; India, 87,770; and Australia, 86,570. South Korea, the United States, the Philippines, Taiwan and the United Kingdom each contributed more than 50,000 travelers during the month.

Among the five leading markets, visitors from India recorded the longest average stay, at 5.95 days, while Chinese tourists stayed an average of 3.71 days. Between January and August 2026, Singapore accumulated 11.43 million international visitors, down 1.7% year-on-year. Of these, 8.37 million, equivalent to 73.2%, stayed at least one night. The average stay for the period was 3.43 days, 2.8% lower than a year earlier.

The year-to-date total represents approximately 67.2% of the lower end of STB’s annual target. For 2026, the agency also projects between S$31 billion and S$32.5 billion in tourism receipts, after Singapore welcomed 16.9 million visitors in 2025. STB is chaired by Olivier Lim, while Melissa Ow has served as Chief Executive since June 2023.
