The governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite (PSDB), received representatives from the betting and iGaming sector for a meeting. Among them were the president of the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR), Andre Gelfi, and the CEO of KTO Group, Andreas Bardun.
In addition to the meeting with the governor, the executives also participated in the launch of a subcommittee created in the Legislative Assembly to discuss the sector.
“In addition to the joy of seeing the receptivity of the members of the subcommittee, it is encouraging to see the intention of parliamentarians to regulate the sector within the scope of Rio Grande do Sul”,
Concern about taxation
One of the points that most concerns representatives of sports betting companies is the taxation that is being discussed in the Senate. Established at 18% of Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR), the possibility of reducing it to 12% is open, although the Federal Government seeks a middle ground and defends a rate of 15%.
