Washington DC’s sportsbooks generated $3.8m in revenue last month, up by $1.5m from August and breaking the previous record of $3.6m set in November 2020. The Handle for the month was $20.7m, up 66.4 per cent from the $12.8m wagered in August and beating July’s record of $19.5m.
Caesars Entertainment, which runs an online mobile sportsbook in DC and a retail sportsbook facility at the Capital One Arena, saw gross gaming revenue from sports betting reach $3.2m off a handle of $16.2m. DC Lottery’s Gambet brand, powered by Intralot, placed second with $595,995 in revenue from a handle of $3.7m.
In third place, came BetMGM, which launched in the district in June in partnership with the Washington Nationals Major League Baseball team, posted $46,930 in revenue off a handle of $836,623.
For the first nine months of the year, revenue in DC was $21.9m and the handle $148.6m.
