Delaware has reported a sports betting handle of $12.2m for October. That’s 37.1 per cent higher than the $8.9m staked in October 2020 and 54.4 per cent more than $7.9m in September this year. It’s the first time the handle has reached eight figures since $11.7m was wagered in January but still couldn’t break the record $13.6m wagered in December 2019.
Revenue fell, however, with GGR down 20 per cent from $1.5m in October 2020 to $1.2m. That’s also 14.3 per cent lower than the $1.4m reported in September this year.
Posting $615,150 in revenue from $6.5m in player bets, Delaware Park remained the market leader. In second place came Harrington Raceway with $312,661 in revenue off $3.1m in wagers. The podium was completed by Dover Downs with $261,014 in revenue and a handle of $2.6m.
The state’s handle for the 10 months to October 31 stood at $73.3m, while revenue amounted to $9.3m.
