The casino markets of Illinois and Iowa generated a combined US$312.2 million in gaming revenue during June 2026, driven primarily by slot machine performance and new property developments. Illinois led the way with Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) of US$173.6 million, representing a 9.1% year-on-year increase, while Iowa reported US$138.6 million, up 1.2%, according to the official reports released by the Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) and the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission (IRGC). The IGB is led by Administrator Marcus D. Fruchter and Chair Dionne Hayden, while the IRGC is headed by Administrator Tina Eick and Chair Amy Burkhart.

In Illinois, slot machines generated US$132.4 million, while table games contributed US$41.2 million. The state's highest-grossing casino remained Rivers Casino Des Plaines with US$44 million, followed by Wind Creek Chicago Southland (US$20.5 million), Hard Rock Casino Rockford (US$12.9 million), Grand Victoria Casino Elgin (US$12.6 million) and Hollywood Casino Joliet (US$12 million). The strongest year-on-year growth was recorded by Hollywood Casino Joliet (+75.2%) following its relocation to a new land-based facility, Fairmount Park Casino & Racing (+70.4%), Rivers Casino Des Plaines (+9.2%), while Harrah's Metropolis (-13.9%), Hollywood Casino Aurora (-13.1%) and Argosy Casino Alton (-11.0%) posted the largest declines.

In Iowa, slot machines produced US$126.2 million, while table games generated US$12.4 million. The industry also contributed approximately US$28.6 million in state taxes and local government distributions. The state's five highest-grossing casinos were Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino (US$19.7 million), Ameristar II (US$13.0 million), Horseshoe Council Bluffs (US$12.8 million), Riverside Casino & Golf Resort (US$9.8 million) and Diamond Jo Worth (US$9.1 million). The strongest revenue gains came from Diamond Jo Dubuque (+91.6%), Bally's Marquette (+48.9%), Diamond Jo Worth (+47.2%), Prairie Meadows (+2.4%) and Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo, while Great River Casino Resort (-55.2%), Grand Falls Casino Resort (-18.5%) and Horseshoe Council Bluffs (-8.4%) recorded the sharpest declines.

The June results highlight two distinct market trends: Illinois continues expanding through new land-based casino developments and stronger table game performance, while Iowa remains a stable, slot-driven market with significant shifts in revenue distribution across its 19 licensed casinos. Both regulators expect recently completed investments and new facilities to have a more pronounced impact on gaming revenue during the second half of 2026.
