Las Vegas continues to struggle to recover from the impact of the pandemic. So the city has launched a program that encourages Las Vegas residents to enjoy the city’s gambling and hospitality facilities in order to boost the local economy.
It is leaded by the non-profit organization Downtown Vegas Alliance, named “Playcation”, the campaign encourages locals to enjoy gambling and hospitality services by offering discounts through the smartphone app Explore DTLV.
Las Vegas gambling industry has been slow to recover since the Covid-19 pandemic took hold in March. The number of visitors remains down 61% year-on-year as conferences are postponed and individuals less willing to travel.
So, the basic idea is to replace tourist and business visits with locals who are itching to get out.
