The Plaza Hotel & Casino, located at 1 Main Street in Downtown Las Vegas, opened a new High Limit Slots Room on August 26, 2026, spanning approximately 2,000 square feet and featuring 53 high-denomination gaming machines, personalised service and cashless technology aimed at attracting premium players.

Located at the head of the Fremont Street Experience, the new room combines high-limit slots with a dedicated concierge, hotel check-in for top-tier Players Club members, an ATM, TITO redemption machine, complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, 24-hour cocktail service and a lounge that can also be used for private events and sports viewing. The machines use Acres Cashless Gaming technology, compatible with Apple Pay and other electronic payment methods, as well as direct funding features and automated jackpot payments in certain cases.

Plaza CEO Jonathan Jossel said the investment responds to growth in the property’s slots business and an increase in high-end players visiting Downtown Las Vegas. The specific cost of the new room has not been disclosed, although the property has invested at least US$50 million in previous renovations, including US$35 million in a major refurbishment and another US$15 million in guest rooms and Luxe suites.

The Plaza is owned by Tamares Group, led by Chairman and CEO Poju Zabludowicz. The casino originally opened on July 2, 1971 as Union Plaza and today features nearly 1,000 rooms, around 80,000 square feet of casino space, close to two dozen table games, a sportsbook, bingo hall, rooftop pool, CORE Arena and 30,000 square feet of event space.

To mark the opening, the Plaza partnered with Travel Ruby for a US$10,000 slot tournament on August 28 and 29. Additional promotions include Hot Seat giveaways and a chance to win a cruise experience for two. The casino is regulated by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, chaired by Mike Dreitzer, and the Nevada Gaming Commission, led by Jennifer Togliatti.
