The Government has today appointed Juan Bautista Ordoñez as the new Secretary of Childhood, Adolescence and Family, within the framework of the restructuring of the Ministry of Human Capital.
Ordoñez was the CEO of Codere between March 2018 and November 2022. Although it is a company that operates within the law and its function was public, the growth of child gambling and sports betting, one of the most complex current problems among young people, caused his appointment to generate some controversy.

The appointment of Ordoñez, a former executive of the gaming industry and with extensive experience in the corporate sector, underlines the commitment of Javier Milei's government to incorporate profiles from the private sector under its premise of building a "smaller and more effective State".

The extensive curriculum of the new Secretary of Childhood also includes positions in communications and corporate affairs of companies such as YPF S.A. and the Roggio Group. According to the Ministry of Human Capital, led by Sandra Pettovello, Ordoñez will continue with the management lines established by President Milei, which aim to optimize the efficiency of the state apparatus.
