Jamaica is placing a bold bet on its tourism future with the announcement that the island’s first-ever casino will open by November 2025 at the stunning Princess Grand Jamaica Resort in Hanover.
Developed by Princess Hotels & Resorts, the Spanish hospitality giant, the resort is part of a billion-dollar integrated project. The casino will launch in the second phase, complementing 1,012 operational rooms with 1,025 new rooms, including 14 overwater villas, and a full-scale gaming facility designed to host up to 600 players daily.

Jamaica’s government has revised its investment rules to make the dream a reality: now, projects require only $500 million and 1,000 rooms, down from the original $1.2 billion and 2,000 rooms. These changes pave the way for more integrated resorts across the island.

The Princess Grand project alone will employ nearly 2,000 locals and welcome over 1,800 all-inclusive guests daily. This marks a milestone in Jamaica’s plan to expand from 32,000 to 50,000 hotel rooms in five years, transforming the island into a Caribbean gaming and luxury travel hotspot.
