I still find it hard to believe that Coljuegos is starting a process of homologation of teams in an economic crisis like the one that the sector is going through; This proposal comes at an inconvenient moment in which many of us are bursting in the payment of VAT and exploitation rights.
It is not at all intelligent to hope that, even in a couple of years, we should change our equipment if we have only been spending a year and a half, the threshold of expenses in the operation.
I have thought a lot, read and everything begins to be clear to me:
The associations have become a distributor of companies such as IGT, Novomatic, Merkur, sports betting companies, and anyone who needs them, to say the least.
You will ask yourself what you are reading this column because I say it, and the answer is obvious if you have been in the assemblies of the unions you will see that these events are sponsored by any of the above; If you read the press releases, you will see that the central news is the trip with all expenses paid by the Presidents (as) or representatives of some of them and their closest friends to countries like Peru, Spain, Las Vegas; all with the intention that they "show their products to their members and do what those who say they know about marketing call" cross selling".
That I am a bad thought, yes.
I do not know what I'm talking about, yes, I do. I know that associations, federations or whatever they want to call if they work for the sector, what is not clear sometimes is for the "good" of whoever does it.
Now, I am an operator and I am in the industry and I also see entrepreneurs around me who do not sympathize with what is happening, do not participate in the comments and spaces that are open to comment on issues like this that are neural in importance and do not seem to it affects them.
We are letting the trade unions be those that decide the hand of the highest bidder the economic future of our activity. It happens the same as with these past elections: silence and abstention gives the reason to those who claim to have it, even if those who abstain think differently.
The argument of several spokesmen and Coljuegos itself is that "we must improve the conditions of the gaming equipment to have a first level industry" ... seriously? What! is that the money that a machine that is 10 or 15 years old pays is not worth the same as the money paid by one that has just arrived at the casino and that is going to end up paying within 3 years? What! Is it that we are going to have VAT rebates and government stimuli, through Coljuegos intermediation (which ultimately is the beneficiary) to be able to borrow on equipment that we do not need?
This Homologation is not clear how it is going to do, what we do know is that it does not respond to the reality of the market, responds to the interest of companies that are behind to make a tremendous business selling.
