Published date: 2026-11-02

California, November 1, 2026. The North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians officially opened North Fork Mono Casino on October 27 in Madera, California, following approximately 25 years of planning and legal disputes, with a total investment of US$750 million and management by Station Casinos, a subsidiary of Red Rock Resorts (NASDAQ: RRR).

The resort opened ahead of schedule at 3:00 p.m., one day earlier than planned, along Highway 99, at 17770 Golden State Boulevard, less than 30 miles from Fresno. The tribal property spans 264,000 square feet, including 100,000 square feet of gaming space, featuring more than 2,400 slot machines, 40 gaming tables offering blackjack, pai gow, and roulette, as well as a high-limit room with 138 machines and 10 tables.

The property features eight restaurants and four bars, including Manzanita Steakhouse, offering more than 250 wine labels, and Clubhouse 99, equipped with 56 televisions. Elaine Bethel-Fink, President of North Fork Rancheria, highlighted economic development and tribal sovereignty. Frank J. Fertitta III, CEO of Red Rock Resorts and Station Casinos, heads the management group.

The project is expected to support approximately 1,500 jobs. The tribe projects a regional economic impact exceeding US$2 billion over 20 years, including wages, suppliers, and community agreements. Although development was valued at US$725 million, the total project cost reaches approximately US$750 million. Station Casinos will receive a fee equivalent to 4% of certain construction costs and another equal to 30% of net profits, under a seven-year management agreement.

The National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) approved the agreement in January 2024. Construction began in September 2024, under the federal framework of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. On October 29, a federal court rejected a request to suspend operations following a lawsuit filed by Picayune Rancheria, owner of Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino. A second phase includes a 200-room hotel, swimming pool, spa, and event facilities, with no opening date announced.
