The sales of the 15 lotteries operating in the country reached $ 72.413.362 USD in the first semester of this year and grew 63% compared to the same period of 2020 44.324.193 USD.
The level of sales is already close to the one they had before the pandemic (2019) when it amounted to USD73.959.555.
The president of Coljuegos, César Augusto Valencia Galiano, points out that the gaming sector contributes important resources for the health of Colombians and generates more than 147 thousand jobs to the country, including territorial games. The growth is in line with the reactivation developed in the country in the middle of the pandemic.

When analyzing the results, it is observed that the Sorteo Extraordinario de Colombia, of which several territorial entities of the country are part, was the lottery with the highest growth in the first semester with sales of $3.091.938 USD, an increase of 169.8% compared to the same period of last year. The figure is considered as a sales "record" because during the first semester of the year 2021 it grew 59.6% compared to 2019.
Mario Yepes del Portillo, president of the lottery, attributed the growth to factors such as the improvement of the prize plans, the compliance in the delivery of the prizes, the credibility in this sector and the support of the new administration of Coljuegos, headed by the also from Barranquilla, Valencia Galiano. The contributions made to health add up to more than $3.864.922 USD.
