Several Colombian casinos have entered the list of the largest operator of the casino industry in Latin America, operation that goes from Argentina to Panama, and includes casinos, hotels, restaurants, event centers and spas, operates 15 of the 26 gambling casinos in Chile, in addition to 12 operations located in Argentina, Colombia, Panama, Peru and Uruguay.
It all began in August 2020, when two Chilean brothers, Claudio and Humberto Fisher, bought 65% of the shares of the Latin American investments of the Sun International group for 160 million dollars. With this investment, the Fisher brothers' company, Nueva Inversiones Pacífico Sur, became the sole owner of the Sun Dreams casinos and gambling rooms company, which operates in Colombia, the Bocagrande Casino in Cartagena de Indias, and two in Bogota, Casino New York Diver Plaza 2 and New York Casino El Edén.
Now, the Fishers became the majority partners of the company that will give rise to the largest operator of the casino industry in Latin America resulting from the merger of Dreams S.A. and Enjoy S.A. The new leader of the sector will be composed in 64 % by Dreams, controlled by the Fisher group, and by Enjoy the remaining 36 %.
Enjoy S.A., for its part, made its incursion in the country with the operation of a Casino in the Decameron of San Andres between 2016 and its closing in 2018.
