The tribal operator behind Connecticut’s giant Foxwoods Resort Casino has entered to the Asian Run, they are hoping to win the right to build and run one of a trio of integrated casino resorts that could begin appearing across Japan as early as 2021.
However, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation is a federally-recognized tribe and is facing competition from up to six rival operators while its original plan suffered a severe setback in June following the unexpected death of Felix Rappaport, President and Chief Executive Officer for Foxwoods Resort Casino.
Their plan is to build and operate a small regional integrated casino resort in Tomakomai but they are also thinking about the possibility of bringing an integrated casino resort to the much larger southern city of Nagasaki.
