Konami takes over Carnival’s fleet with SYNKROS

Published date: 2026-06-15

Japanese gaming technology supplier Konami Gaming, a subsidiary of KONAMI GROUP CORPORATION, has completed the deployment of its SYNKROS Casino Management System across all 29 Carnival Cruise Line ships, marking one of the largest casino technology integrations ever implemented in the global cruise gaming sector. The system is already operational and was officially announced by the companies on June 9, 2026.

The move goes far beyond a routine technology upgrade. Carnival Cruise Line, the largest cruise brand in North America, has unified its entire casino operation under a single digital ecosystem capable of managing promotions, player rewards, analytics, bonuses and loyalty tools in real time. Internally, the platform operates through the SURF (Serving Up Rewards and Fun) program.

Steve Sutherland

The project is being led by Marty Goldman, Senior Vice President of Global Gaming at Carnival Corporation, while Tom Jingoli, President and Chief Operating Officer of Konami Gaming, oversees the deployment on behalf of the technology provider. The broader corporate leadership structure includes Josh Weinstein, CEO of Carnival Corporation; Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line; and Steve Sutherland, CEO of Konami Gaming.

The implementation spans Carnival Cruise Line’s entire fleet, including vessels such as Carnival Jubilee, Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, Carnival Venezia, Carnival Firenze, Carnival Panorama, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Vista, Carnival Magic, Carnival Breeze, Carnival Radiance, Carnival Sunshine, Carnival Splendor and Carnival Luminosa, among others.

SYNKROS will allow guests to access personalized offers, automated promotions, player tracking, gaming rewards and cashless gaming functionality integrated directly into the cruise line’s digital ecosystem. The technology also provides advanced analytics tools designed to optimize revenue generation, customer engagement and operational efficiency.

The partnership traces back to 2018, when Carnival Corporation selected Konami as a strategic technology partner to modernize casino operations across more than 100 ships spanning brands such as Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, Seabourn, Costa Cruises, Cunard, AIDA Cruises and P&O Cruises. With the completion of the Carnival Cruise Line rollout and the company’s existing deployment within Holland America Line, Konami now supports technology operations across 40 maritime casinos within the Carnival portfolio, reinforcing its position in a sector where tourism, hospitality and gaming continue to converge as a major growth engine for the global entertainment industry.
