Through Decree 4142 of November 3, 2011, as a decentralized company of the national order, linked to the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, was born Coljuegos as an Industrial and Commercial Company of the State that administers the Rent Monopoly of the gambling industry, acting directly on the Localized Games (casinos, bingos, betting on sports and virtual races); Innovate Games (Baloto and Super Astro Millonario), National Raffles and Promotional Raffles.
In this way, Coljuegos starts operations on April 16, 2012, from which time it seeks to synchronize its work together with the operators to be always in favor of the gambling industry, which has suffered some pitfalls or difficult moments while has adapted to the change.
The current entity has had to carry the burden of its precursor ETESA who was a fortress for paramilitaries and corrupts politicians.
These six years of work of the regulator have been in charge of people like Rodrigo Velez, Cristina Arango until the current president Juan B. Pérez who with his work has relocated the industry in a position of importance to the country.
