Coljuegos has announced the forth online gambling license, this time was awarded by a local Operator.
Colbet announced this summer that it had teamed up with Malta-based sports betting technology provider Sirplay to power its new Colombian betting site, the Bogota based operator Colbet, will work under the domain Colbet.co its online sportsbook.
Coljuegos says the five-year license granted to Colbet will be worth a total of $10.9 Billion COP (US $3.7m) to the Colombian government over the length of the contract.
Coljuegos contributes a significant portion of its revenues to Colombia’s health care services, and the new regulated online market is expected to give those contributions a hefty boost in the coming years. (READ SO: COLOMBIAN LOTTERY COMPANIES LOOKS TO NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR BECOME MORE COMPETITIVE)
Coljuegos president Juan B. Pérez Hidalgo has previously stated that several other operators would imminently receive their own online licenses, including Codere and most likely Sportium.
Until the date the regulator body has authorized the launch of three other online licensees, including Aquila Global Group’s Wplay.co, Corredor Empresarial’s Betplay.com.co and the Zamba.co joint venture of Vicca Group and GAMING1.
