Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva criticized the rich in the world today, saying that world hunger is not due to a lack of money, but to the lack of shame of governments, and said that the planet is "misgoverned." da Silva (PT) said on Tuesday, September 24, that the indebtedness of the poorest due to online gambling is a problem that must be regulated by the federal government.

The statement was made during the event "In defense of democracy, fighting extremism," at the UN in New York. The meeting was promoted by Brazil and Spain.
At an event in New York where he received the Goalkeepers Award, organized by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Lula took advantage of the stage to criticize the lack of resources to combat hunger.
"Brazil has always been against casinos, any type of gambling. Today, through cell phones, gambling is in the family home, in the living room," said Lula. "We are noticing in Brazil the debt of the poorest who try to make money by gambling. It is a problem that we will have to regulate, otherwise we will soon have a casino operating in the kitchen of every house," he said.

Lula also said that advertising this type of betting is based on lies.
“We are seeing madness. The monetization of lies through the digital network. With people becoming multimillionaires, millionaires. What we are seeing in a country like Brazil is gambling,” he said. The statements were made during an event in New York (USA).
As is known, the Brazilian government is regulating the sector and will deactivate operators who have not requested a license starting this October. The regulated market will come into effect starting next January.
