The opening price of the dollar last week was 3,502 pesos, well above 3,469.01 from many days ago. According to the Colombian Stock Exchange, the minimum price at which the US currency has fallen in the first hours of trading is 3,487 pesos, and the maximum is 3,522.31.
Data that worries about trade losses due to unemployment in Bogotá, because at the sum of the dollar that exceeds the 3,500 pesos mark, there is the trillion pesos lost in trade sales due to these same reactions in the country, since that people could not go to their jobs or to business establishments for different reasons, whether it was tobacconists on the road or the fear of the vandals who took advantage of these demonstrations to get their way.
This includes casinos that even those located in shopping centers were forced to close at 5 in the afternoon due to the same thing mentioned above, which was quite difficult for casino operators since they have high dollar debts in slot machines recently acquired to renovate its rooms and give the best to the Colombian market.
“The government took note of other movements in Latin America and has been open to dialogue from the beginning. Something that has remedied that unemployment does not lengthen even more” says Oanda's senior market analyst in Latin America, Alfonso Esparza.
After a week of unemployment, commercial activities are expected to return to normal so that national entrepreneurs such as casino operators can begin to see some green numbers for these upcoming holidays.
