I am asked on many occasions by gaming businessmen, how trained must the compliance officer of companies in the gaming sector be?... As union president and also compliance officer, I answer them: "The duty of a Compliance Officer is to be in Permanent Training”, definitely and fully updated with national and international regulations, constantly willing to receive feedback from information and day-to-day experiences, ready and available to validate eventual changes, willing to uphold the sector , leader with the ability to show management before public entities, companies in the real sector of the economy and especially the financial sector; and not least, accrediting knowledge in ML/FT/FPADM risk management through courses, diplomas, specializations, among others; that are offered by public and private institutions, unions and universities.
In order to ensure the prevention and control of money laundering and the financing of terrorism, the National Corporation of Entrepreneurs of Games of Luck and Chance, CORNAZAR, together with the Association of Localized and Innovative Games Compliance Officers, ASOJUL will hold the Seventh National Meeting of Gambling Compliance Officers on August 9 and 10, 2023, which will take place at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel in the city of Medellín.
For this edition, under the slogan: "Business transparency of games of luck and chance in compliance", CORNAZAR and ASOJUL, will focus the meeting on promoting the practice of compliance models that lead to the gaming sector and azar in Colombia to improve all policies and procedures in favor of legality, transparency and compliance. This version will have as its main pillar the development, implementation and adaptation of LA/FT/FPADM risk management systems, topics necessary for the tasks and responsibilities that the compliance area of gambling companies has today, based on the industry's corporate social responsibility project.
These will be two days of useful and timely information for businessmen and compliance officers in the gambling sector. The training event will include the participation of representatives of entities such as Coljuegos, Financial Information and Analysis Unit (UIAF), Financial Superintendence of Colombia, UNODC, AML PROTEKTOR, IQ Integrity AML, RISKS INTERNATIONAL; Likewise, there will be academic spaces such as panels of compliance officers from the localized gaming sector, innovative games, permanent bets and lotteries.
