The biosecurity protocols for gambling sector are still awaiting the approval. With the authorization of the document that had been presented to the Ministry of Health more than a month ago, this sector would be on the verge of reactivating its activities.
Expectations for operators and employees of casinos are high. Although the guilds highlight that the balance of the affectation due to the closure caused by the pandemic, has more than 60 thousand direct jobs and 180 thousand indirect jobs at risk, they expect a prompt progressive reactivation of their activities, after the authorization of the biosafety protocols by part of the Ministry of Health.
According to the representatives of the casinos' guilds, these spaces are not for mass attendance and within the established protocols there will be a distance of two meters between clients in table games, bingo games, roulettes and slot machines.
The document that contains the protocols also indicates that, if this distance is not met, the installation of acrylic or plastic sheet separators between the machines is mandatory and once the player finishes his game session, he must proceed immediately to disinfection process.
These establishments will also have gel dispensers, signs and the consumption of food and alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
The operators of these businesses are investing approximately 500 million colombian pesos for the implementation of the new sanitary measures.
