Deputy Dunia Jiménez of the Salvadoran Party of Honduras (PSH) announced a draft law for the regulation of online casinos. In this regard, she announced that they are holding meetings in Tegucigalpa with German businessmen representing at least 34 companies in 27 countries.
“We have been working on the draft law for approximately two months, with which they seek to have a regulation of online casinos. Not only Hondurans will be able to play, but also players worldwide,”
The idea, she added, is that with these taxes, 10% will be used in the health sector for medical supplies and cardiovascular devices, since the support in this medical area is not so accentuated. The PSH deputy for Cortés recalled that the above must be governed by the law of Honduras in order to capture these resources.
Therefore, the Ministry of Government and Justice would oversee the regulatory standards.
“We will listen to any comments that may be made about this project,” he concluded. Investment is sought because Honduras is still a virgin in this field, since it has the experience of countries such as Malta, Hong Kong, Curacao and others. In this way, in addition to collecting taxes, jobs would be generated in the Central American nation.
“A law is needed that regulates all of this and that is responsible, that is why we are here to see if it can be possible,” explained the official, who points out the intention of collecting taxes from international players.
