Decree 247 of 16 March 2020. Yesterday in the city of Pereira, all commercial establishments such as Casinos, bars, cinemas, billiards, social clubs, nightclubs and all those establishments where similar commercial activities are held in the city closed after the issuance of Decree 247 of March 16, 2020.
Also, commercial establishments such as supermarkets were asked to refrain from selling to citizens more than two items of the same characteristics in categories of food, medicines, toiletries per person.
This decree will be effective until May 30, but the date may be changed once the causes of the healt system certified the contention of the virus.
In Cartagena there is already a copy of a decree very similar to this, which is expected to be published today, however, since they have already started to take restricted measures to avoid the crowding of people in the same place.
In many municipalities of the country began new implementations of curfews, Monday to Sunday indefinitely:
- Rionegro: from 8 at night to 6 a.m.
- Marinilla: from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- El Carmen de Viboral: from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Grass: from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Department of Cordoba: from 7 at night to 6 in the morning.
- Quindío Department: from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
In Antioquia, mayors of municipalities such as El Retiro, El Santuario, Guarne, La Ceja del Tambo, La Unión, San Vicente Ferrer, San Luis, San Francisco, Cocorná and Granada ensured that not only will this curfew measure be welcomed, but also the closure of all casinos and retail establishments where more than 30 people can be crowded.
In Barranquilla, the Mayor also ordered the closure of the establishments which will be effective in the next few hours
For more than two months, casinos will have closed doors without generating income for employee pay, or payment to the debts that many operators acquire in dollars which is over 4,000 COPs.
This is undoubtedly a major setback for the Gambling industry. The Government is required to declare UNPAID COLLECTIVE HOLLIDAYS in the coming hours as a means of mandatory compliance.
The measures taken this Monday and will begin to be replicated along the main cities of the country as a government strategy to prevent the agglomeration of people and the spread of COVID-19 and will remain in force until the government, through an administrative act, decrees the health emergency finished in the country.
