In a twist few saw coming, Ellis Island Casino & Hotel, a once-vocal critic of the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, has now become an official partner of the high-octane event on the Strip.
The move comes just months after the 2023 edition of the Las Vegas Grand Prix made headlines not only for its glittering night race debut but also for widespread controversy. Local businesses complained about disruptive road closures, blocked access, and economic setbacks. Among the most outspoken was Ellis Island, which filed a lawsuit in April 2024 against race organizers and Clark County, claiming significant financial losses due to restricted customer access. The case was dismissed in September 2024, and both parties have since reached a private settlement.

Fast forward to today: Ellis Island will now serve as an “Official Venue of the Las Vegas Strip Circuit” for the 2025 race and beyond. Strategically located next to the Grand Prix Plaza on Koval Lane, the casino will offer exclusive race viewing options and will host events like its long-running Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation Halloween Bash.

So many businesses attract customers with the anti-f1 feeling, other coin´s side.
This unexpected partnership underscores Formula 1’s effort to rebuild ties with the local community, after a rocky first edition. Meanwhile, other establishments like Battista’s Hole in the Wall and Stage Door Casino still have unresolved lawsuits pending.

As F1 races toward another Las Vegas showdown, it's clear that in Sin City, even rivals can become allies—if the stakes are high enough.
