Fernando Costa, president of the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF), has raised concerns about the persistent issue of betting activities influencing the nation's football scene. He emphasized the need for support from the State Attorney General's Office to ensure a transparent season.

This revelation comes approximately sixteen months after allegations of match-fixing disrupted professional football in Bolivia for about 40 days. Costa highlighted that betting operations continue, some even orchestrated from abroad, underscoring the urgency of collaborative efforts to uphold the sport's integrity.
Bolivia is also in the news, illegal casino closed, and regulator go for illegal bets.

The FBF has received various reports, some substantiated, regarding individuals involved in betting activities. Costa expressed the federation's commitment to maintaining a clean administration and announced plans to seek assistance from the Attorney General's Office. Specific details about the matches under scrutiny were not disclosed.
Previously, investigations into match-fixing led to lifetime bans for certain officials and suspensions for players. However, no criminal detentions occurred due to insufficient progress in legal proceedings. The FBF aims to implement exemplary sanctions within the sports justice framework and will refer cases to the ordinary justice system as necessary. The federation's proactive stance reflects a broader commitment to eradicating corruption and ensuring the integrity of Bolivian football.
