Coljuegos Business Roundtable, What Barranquilla operators think about it.

Published date: 2019-08-15
Coljuegos Business Roundtable

At the first business table of Coljuegos, we had the opportunity to interview and talk with several operators present, to whom we asked two questions, this is what they answered

MV: What do you think about this new space that is creating Coljuegos with the operators?

Alejandro Duarte Rueda (Who appears in the previous photo): The truth, is that it seems interesting to me that the entity approaches the operators to inform them that it will happen in the short time with a 12% tax that is what we are waiting for, but tax that can be paid, a machine that can be legalized because as is the norm small operators could not access since there are a series of 27 requirements that could not be covered, but if the entity opens the doors to new commissions, to tables techniques and we can tell you "look gentlemen in Colombia there are 280,000 machines that want to pay the 12% tax", surely the entity will receive much more money than it is receiving at the moment.

MV: According to how Coljuegos exposed, and as it is structured to date, do you think that this in route slot machine business model is profitable for you?

ADR: the in route slot machine business is lucrative, because the neighborhoods of the periphery stop in their establishments an element that makes the neighbors do not move away from the neighborhood and is there, it seems to me interesting, the road machine can be a coexistence factor so that people do not leave their home, so we want the entity to open those doors and to have one or two machines in all neighborhoods, here in Barranquilla there are 1112 and all those neighborhoods can have one or two machines for people to have fun near their home.

MV: What do you think about this new space that Coljuegos is creating with the operators?

Hernán Pérez: It seems to me something unheard of because it is not reasonable what they came to explain to us today, and the president did not come who was precisely what we wanted to tell him all our concerns, our problems because we really are not able to pay those very high taxes, where it has been my turn to close two businesses and assign the contract to another person because it is too much, there are machines in which you lose one and apart one has to take out of the pocket to be able to pay the tax.

MV: According to how Coljuegos exposed, and as it is structured to date, do you think that this in route slot machine business model is profitable for you?

HP: At the moment it is not lucrative for me, on the contrary, nobody will be able to comply with the approval of those machines because a new machine is around 40 or 50 million colombian pesos, who will be able to meet a minimum of machines very high and with such a high price of a machine

MV: What do you think about this new space that Coljuegos is creating with the operators?

Carlos Mario Velázquez: For me it is a big lie, because he comes to Barranquilla and they say that President Juan B. is with the governor and they don't go out with anything, bone is a lie. So, they do not come and attend, because an official who comes and explains will transmit it to him, but he left us waiting in Barranquilla, for us it is disrespectful.

MV: According to how Coljuegos exposed, and as it is structured to date, do you think that this in route slot machine business model is profitable for you?

CMV: No, it is that if they change right now, with 12% more than 80% of the operators disappear, we better send the machines to scrap and get into another business or continue illegal.

MV: What do you think about this new space that Coljuegos is creating with the operators?

Rafael Enrique Reales: It is a total uncertainty, we arrive with uncertainty and we leave with the same uncertainty, we are all demotivated. You don't see an atmosphere of reconciliation; I say in reconciliation because we are currently in lawsuit because of the new regulations that we did not want to apply.

MV: According to how Coljuegos exposed, and as it is structured to date, do you think that this road machine business model is profitable for you?

RER: Times are changing, right now the in route slot machines I do not think they are so lucrative because people have become accustomed to the big casinos, to the big halls. I tell you with knowledge of cause because when a player goes, he wants diversity, to be in a machine to move to another.

I see it complicated, because you have to have at least 300 machines on the road and reliability conditions that are difficult to meet, apart from the technical requirements put in each establishment a server, take out both land use, as a prior concept, etc. There are a number of obstacles that are applicable to the 80 machines but multiplied by much more because they are many more machines.

MV: What do you think about this new space that Coljuegos is creating with the operators?

Roberto Sarmientos: I think they are very good spaces both for the operator and for the whole guild in general, seeing that this is taking a draft with some proposals that we hope hopefully the president will listen to us, because the truth is that we need here is benefit for all, not only for large multinationals, but also for medium and small operators who, like them, are in the guild, that is what we need right now, a relief. Because the truth is that we look at how Coljuegos pursues illegality, we also need to provide solutions to those who are supposedly outside, that we are illegal.

We want that, solutions, we want to conform to the law, but with benefits and equality for all, not for some yes and for others no. Because we must see that the support of several families also depends on the children so that the large multinationals now come to want to end a job that we already did for a long time, which suddenly we have not been able to legalize for so many obstacles, look that now they are putting us another step so that we continue in the illegality and not solutions so that we leave the illegality.

With this we are calling for it to reach the ears of the president of Coljuegos, listen to us and look for solutions.

MV: According to how Coljuegos exposed, and as it is structured to date, do you think that this in route slot machine business model is profitable for you?

RS: Suddenly the profitable thing is not so much really, because there is a lot of competition and based on those standards, we already get used to living from this, because there are many people who had another business and they went to the machine business. We seek is more tranquility, stop hiding, a fixed support for our interests, not so lucrative.
