Iowa’s 19 commercial casinos generated $141.3 million in total revenue during October 2025, marking a 6.2% year-over-year increase from $133.1 million in October 2024. The data, released by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission, highlights a solid month of growth for the state’s gaming sector.
Of the 19 venues, 12 reported revenue increases compared to the same period last year. Notably, six casinos logged double-digit gains: one facility saw its revenue rise 49.4%, from $3.1 million to $4.6 million; another jumped 20.7%, moving from $8.5 million to $10.3 million; while a third rose 17.3%, from $5.1 million to $5.9 million.

Slot machines continued to be the engine of growth, with revenue climbing from $120.4 million in October 2024 to $127.9 million in October 2025, a 6.3% increase. Table games also posted gains, with revenue increasing 5.1%, from $12.7 million to $13.4 million over the same period. On the flip side, five casinos reported essentially flat results (including slight declines), and two venues posted year-over-year drops, the largest of which declined by 6.4%, from $8 million to $7.4 million.
Revenue rally: Iowa casinos report robust growth in august 2025
For the broader gaming industry, these figures underscore the resilience and momentum of the casino business in Iowa — despite broader economic headwinds and evolving consumer habits. The growth in slot and table-game revenue suggests that both casual and more engaged players are still showing up on the gaming floor.
Operators and investors should view this performance as a positive sign. With revenue trending upward and multiple venues posting strong gains, Iowa remains a competitive and viable market for gaming investment. At the same time, the varied performance across casinos signals that location, amenities, and promotional strategy still matter — growth is possible, but execution counts.
