Illegal sports betting in Cali
Thanks to a citizen complaint the investigation was initiated, where it was verified that minors were participating in gambling’s and betting’s.
The illegal activity consisted in the sale of a ticket with a value from 5 thousand pesos onwards, which allowed them to participate in a game, where the buyer or participant predicted the result of national and international football matches, participating for prizes of up to 10 million COP.
The Criminal Investigation Unit for Children and Adolescents of Cali, in coordination with the Prosecutor's Office 69 URI, carried out the arrest of four persons who allegedly engaged in the unlawful exercise of monopolistic rent-seeking activity. These persons used the name "Enterprise OTI SAS of management consulting and security system ", commercial register of companies whose commercial purpose or economic activity was different from the raising of monies by the betting system. In homes located in the Calicanto, Ciudadela de Comfandi, Villa Colombia and Santa Barbara neighborhoods from Cali, eight computers, four printers, stationery, betting tickets and 7 million 370 thousand 800 pesos (COP) were seized as a result of the commercialization of this game.
Apartadó illegal casino 
Units of the Criminal Investigation Section (SIJIN) of the Uraba Police Department, in coordination with the Attorney General's Office, raided an illegal casino in the municipality of Apartadó a small town 6 hours away from Medellin, where 24 slot machines operated without paying taxes.
In the action were arrested two women who were caught unlawfully exercising the monopolistic activity of rent-seeking arbitration. In the same police procedure were seized 3 million 685 thousand 600 pesos (COP) in different denominations which will be left available to the Prosecutor.
