Ontario has reach Stage 2 of reopening from Covid-19 countermeasures allows gambling venues to open, but Niagara Falls’ two casinos have decided to remain closed due to the capacity limits enforced.
Ontario’s “Framework for Reopening our Province“, which was drawn up back in July 2020, allowed casinos, bingo halls and gaming establishments to reopen at stage 2, but with a limit of 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors, not including staff. Both Niagara Falls casinos have been closed for 16 months straight.
In other words, there has been no money getting into the casinos for over 1 year. And what have been seen from other parts where the reopening’s of casinos has been done is that it takes its time.
The limit has since been upped to 25 per cent inside, but it isn’t yet clear what capacity will be allowed when the province moves to stage 3, which is expected later this month.
