In a strategic move to promote tourism across Mexico, the Lotería Nacional has initiated a series of special draws outside Mexico City, aiming to highlight the unique attractions of various regions. This initiative seeks to stimulate local economies by attracting both national and international visitors to lesser-known destinations.

Acapulco's La Quebrada Celebrated

The inaugural event of this initiative is the Special Draw No. 297, commemorating the 90th anniversary of La Quebrada in Acapulco. Scheduled for March 21, this draw is the first to be held outside the capital under the current administration. The Lotería Nacional has issued 2.4 million tickets featuring iconic imagery of La Quebrada, with a grand prize of 27 million pesos. This event is part of a broader effort to revitalize Acapulco's tourism industry, showcasing its natural beauty and cultural heritage.

As part of the promotional activities, the Acapulco Tourism Caravan visited Puebla to unveil the commemorative lottery ticket. This event highlighted the collaborative efforts between different states to boost tourism and showcased Acapulco's attractions to a broader audience.
Expanding the Initiative to Other Regions
Building on the success of the Acapulco event, the Lotería Nacional plans to extend this initiative to other regions. For instance, a series of lottery tickets featuring the "Pueblos Mágicos" of the State of Mexico was unveiled, with the draw scheduled for July 19. This effort aims to promote cultural and tourist attractions across the country, encouraging economic growth in these areas.

The Mexican government, under President Claudia Sheinbaum, supports these initiatives as part of a broader strategy to diversify tourism and stimulate local economies. By bringing national attention to various cultural and natural attractions through the Lotería Nacional's draws, the government aims to create sustainable tourism opportunities and foster regional development.
